Hospitals lose their patients belongings leading to increased costs, increased risk of adverse events, and increased risk of poor Patient Satisfactory Results.

Jeanne Oxley blacked out in her backyard last month. When she woke up, she was in Denver Health Medical Center and immediately noticed something was missing.

“The first thing I did was feel my prosthetic eye was gone,” Oxley said. The hospital had misplaced her prosthetic right eye when she was unconscious and intubated by emergency room workers. Oxley has had a prosthetic since her eye was scratched by kids playing with wooden planks when she was 3 years old.
